The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2026 has been announced for international students who wish to pursue higher education in South Korea.

 Program Tracks

• Master’s Degree (3 years: 1 year language + 2 years study)
• Doctoral Degree (4 years: 1 year language + 3 years study)
• Research Program (6 months – 1 year)

 Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant and their parents must not be Korean citizens
• For Master’s: Bachelor’s degree required
• For PhD: Master’s degree required
• Minimum GPA:
  • 80% or
  • Top 20% of class

 Benefits

GKS is a fully funded scholarship:

• One-way airfare
• Full tuition coverage
• Annual stipend:
  • Language program: 14,400,000 KRW
  • Degree program: 16,560,000 KRW
• Additional allowances (settlement, living, etc.)

 Fields of Study

• All academic fields are available
• Only universities listed under GKS are eligible
• Evening, online, or distance programs are not allowed

 Apostille or consular legalization is required

 Application Process

1. Embassy Track

• Apply through the Korean Embassy
• Online deadline: by April 8, 2026 (KST)

2. University Track

• Apply directly to the university

 Important Notes

• TOPIK level 3 is required to begin the degree program
• Incomplete applications will be rejected
• Documents will not be returned
• False information leads to disqualification
