Global Korea Scholarship 2026 – Fully Funded Master’s & PhD Program
The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2026 has been announced for international students who wish to pursue higher education in South Korea.
Program Tracks
- Master’s Degree (3 years: 1 year language + 2 years study)
- Doctoral Degree (4 years: 1 year language + 3 years study)
- Research Program (6 months – 1 year)
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant and their parents must not be Korean citizens
- For Master’s: Bachelor’s degree required
- For PhD: Master’s degree required
- Minimum GPA:
- 80% or
- Top 20% of class
Benefits
GKS is a fully funded scholarship:
- One-way airfare
- Full tuition coverage
- Annual stipend:
- Language program: 14,400,000 KRW
- Degree program: 16,560,000 KRW
- Additional allowances (settlement, living, etc.)
Fields of Study
- All academic fields are available
- Only universities listed under GKS are eligible
- Evening, online, or distance programs are not allowed

Application Process
1. Embassy Track
- Apply through the Korean Embassy
- Online deadline: by April 8, 2026 (KST)
2. University Track
- Apply directly to the university
Important Notes
- TOPIK level 3 is required to begin the degree program
- Incomplete applications will be rejected
- Documents will not be returned
- False information leads to disqualification
