OIST Research Internship
The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), located in Japan, offers a research internship program for both international and domestic students lasting from 3 to 6 months.
The program is conducted twice a year. Selection is based on academic performance, relevance of the chosen research field, and availability of positions and funding.
Eligibility
- Undergraduate students in their final 2 years (3rd–4th year)
- Master’s students
- Recent graduates of bachelor’s or master’s programs
Benefits
Selected participants will receive:
- Daily stipend of 2400 JPY (~15 USD)
- Free transportation services
- Round-trip airfare to Japan
- Fully furnished free accommodation
- Assistance with visa, insurance, and local registration
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have an academic background relevant to the selected research field
- Possess sufficient English proficiency (the program is conducted in English)
- Obtain permission from their home institution (for current students)
Application Process
- Application deadline: April 15, 2026 (19:59 Tashkent time)
- Internship period: Between October 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027 (3–6 months)
