The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), located in Japan, offers a research internship program for both international and domestic students lasting from 3 to 6 months.

The program is conducted twice a year. Selection is based on academic performance, relevance of the chosen research field, and availability of positions and funding.

Eligibility

• Undergraduate students in their final 2 years (3rd–4th year)
• Master’s students
• Recent graduates of bachelor’s or master’s programs

• Daily stipend of 2400 JPY (~15 USD)

 Requirements

Applicants must:

• Have an academic background relevant to the selected research field
• Possess sufficient English proficiency (the program is conducted in English)
