Scopus Camp 2025: Advancing Scientific Research at the Samarkand Branch of TSEU


In July 2025, at the Samarkand branch of Tashkent State University of Economics, an international scientific-practical seminar – SCOPUS CAMP 2025 was held at the initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. This extensive two-day event was aimed at improving scientific writing skills, academic writing culture, and publishing articles in prestigious international databases like SCOPUS.
Main objective of the event
SCOPUS CAMP 2025 aimed to teach young researchers, doctoral students, and aspiring scholars modern scientific methodologies, develop their skills in writing articles that meet international standards, and strengthen academic collaboration between Uzbek and international experts.
International Participation
The event was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions as well as experienced scholars, editors, and academic experts from Malaysia, Indonesia, and other countries. Their lectures, interactive sessions, and analytical training enabled participants to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge.
The intensive two-day program included:
Day 1: Introduction to scientific article writing, structure, topic selection, SCOPUS requirements, and key components of an article.
Day 2: Common mistakes in academic writing, stages of submitting to SCOPUS journals, peer-review process, and publishing strategies.

Opportunity for young scholars
SCOPUS CAMP 2025 served as a vital platform for young researchers to prepare their studies for the international stage. Participants worked on their individual article plans, consulted with mentors, and identified ways to improve their research work.
Award ceremony at the end of Day 2
At the end of the second day, a solemn award ceremony was held. Participants were awarded official certificates for their active involvement, creativity, and dedication to science. The event boosted their motivation for academic excellence.
